Nine Month War tells the story of a young Hungarian man from Western Ukraine. Jani feels sheltered by his mother\u2019s care, and eager to try “real” adult life. When he is drafted to serve in Eastern Ukraine he ignores his mother and fianc\u00e9e\u2019s pleas to avoid conscription, and considers it an exciting adventure that will put his masculinity and bravery to the test. He soon finds himself on the frontline where first-hand experience with war changes him forever.
